i got my rangi at a bargain price just recently because it had a bad cracnkshaft, so i replaced the engine with a 5 series bmw one it fitted no problem just the sump and external stuff to change and its in and running sweet. and now the let the problems begin first the windows pack up durring the engine swap, now the glow plugs have packed up as well and yep you guessed it now the hvac is playing up. having read through some posts on here i have a new relay/timer for the g plugs and a switch panel comeing for the windows but can i sort the heater is the question the symtoms are no display working but its been like that for ages not to worried but now the blowers only work when they feel like it with no pattern any ideas before i hav to spend more money i dont have.

aye i might have the panel out and check it for connections etc, and im pretty sure the glow plugs are good as i fitted newens when the engine went in. if i get time this week i will investigate some more.

ok some progress i fitted the relay this morn and it seems to work ok for now then i fitted the new window switch panel tonight when it came in the post so thats the glass all working :D and myseriously the heater blowers are working again as if by magic:confused:.
and now for its latest trick the wife was driving it today for the first time and it seemed to loose all power for a few seconds while doing 50 mph and then all fine again, it did this to me the other day but i thought it was just me doing something wrong but apparently not.
any clues on this one.

not fuel level it had just been topped up and the fuel filter is ok its not long been changed but the turbo pipe sounds a good one i will have to inspect them i didnt notice anything when the engine was out but you never know.

They delaminate inside. If the car has stood for a while you may also have bacterial growth in the tank which can cause temporary pump pick up problems.

car wasnt stood for long i bought it off one of my customers after the y ran it low on oil for the umteenth time and it spun a bearing it was a very well looked after car really serviced regular if it needed it she had me do it till the engine went bang it was off the road id say about five weeks put the engine in over the christmas break and its been fine apart from the electrical issues, heater still working perfect allday who knows poxy thing.
