this is my 1st LPG disco and i have noticed that when it switches over to LPG it still seems to use fuel, has anyone else had this problem. or does it just need a good LPG service.

today i made note of where fuel gauge sat when it switched to LPG and 5 miles down road on came my fuel light and gauge had moved surely once on LPG it should not use fuel other wise whats the point in it :/

this is when its up to tempreture, and it switchies over atuomaticly. . getting the system serviced next month at least then i know it ok.

Any time really.

With a rich mixture of petrol and lpg there's a high chance of knock, which you may notice at all times. Plus your spark plugs would be filthy and stink of fuel.

I am happy to write about how good my landy is on LPG. I have a very basic setup with the gas entering the engine between the carbs and inlet. I have a switch on the dash to switch between gas & petrol. Switching to gas cuts off the fuel pump, so no chance of over fuelling. Driven sensibly I can get over 120 miles from £30. I have had no problems at all with reliability when running on LPG, and it even starts on LPG when cold.

not sure what MPG i get for my money, i only put £4 LPG in today as place i go to ran out lol, and have done over about 15/20 miles so far and its not run out yet, so dont know if thats good or not :)

:welcome2:

sorry for late reply guys,

it seems you both are getting value for money on gas.

and as much as I love my old but much worked on disco1 doosel,
my Illnesses are giving me a bit of grief with the man sized clutch & peddle in town driving,

so, "just looking" at autos, diesel and gas powered as I find them..

Hi
just bought a V8i with the same problem (using petrol when on LPG)
turned out to be an electrical fault, bad neg/chassis conection on some lpg control boxes, fixed now, runs like a dream on lpg and petrol,
cost a bit to find the problem, but worth it.
Love it !!
Mick
