Using 10w 40 oil

would it matter if I used 10w 40 oil it's what I've been putting in it recently

Personally I would not use it, but don't know if it would do it any harm. Should be 5/30 synthetic oil, low SAPS if vehicle is fitted with a DPF which yours will be. And with the MOT regulations getting tighter, using the wrong spec oil could affect emissions. Current MOT will be a fail if there is any visible smoke in the exhaust, which could be as a result of using the wrong oil. I will be using oil as per attachment in future (have been ignoring low SAPS up until now).

NO!! it should be to Ford specification WSS-M2C934-B if it is fitted with a DPF which I am sure yours will be. If no DPF you can use Ford spec WSS-M2C913 B or C.
