Hi all i have just driven about 5 miles reached my destination have a very hot and smelly engine temp gage is normal any ideas? Had it serviced last week aswell
urgent help needed please

during the service did they change the coolant

I don't know coolant is full oil OK there is a lot of oil in bottom of engine he said he found a bad oil leak ( a small cover was not fitted correctly) and he thought he had fixed it don't know if the smell could be oil burning? Its running fine but to me it seemed very hot under the bonnet for such a short journey. If its any help the coolant is a pink colour and looks un contaminated

ABS light just stayed on!! Moved car off grass on to drive so easier to see if oil leaks out and light stayed on

Did you go above 5mph to do this tina? - the ABS light stays on after start up until you go above 5mph.

That did occur to me so gonna take it out in the morning to check and hopefully it won't explode on me, burning smell is very scary to me as I don't have any mechanical knowledge. Think I need to divorce my clueless hubby and marry a mechanic instead

(It could just be the excess oil from the leak burning off though).

I would suspect it is just the oil burning off not a nice smell ,we used to have it all the time in the old days

think i was being a little dramatic ABS light gone out but i do have an oil leak more of a drip than anything else so will assume thats the smell and get it checked out

been to mechanic needs a new seal 22 quid for the part 30 to fix it probably could do it my bloody self aswell gutted

I'm not exactly sure think its on the gasket already booked into garage for tomorrow just a bit annoyed with myself because I panicked and took it to garage instead of checking it properly myself lesson learned!
