Upgrading from a Freelander to a Vogue - Some Questions

From the pics it looks in really good condition, if you go and see it just go through my list and give it a full and long test drive and try and take it a place where you can test the hill desent, low range etc... You may want to check that the listing is correct as it is listed as a vogue se but on the rear of the vehicle it only says vogue, and if it was an SE it should read Vogue SE. Just something you may wanna check out

Looks decent, but I reckon you could get it even cheaper considering the milage on that.

Have a look at this - same price (ish) and has LPG already, and same miles:

Do you definately want a black one? They tend to be more expensive because of the number of 'gangstaz' out there.

Good point ref Vogue SE bit - I didn't think they even made Vogue SE's in 2004, though I'm happy to be corrected.

Mine was just under £12k with 113k on the clock. If you buy one without the LPG, it will cost you £2 - 2.5k to have it installed. Recommend a good quality LPG kit, I had a look under the engine cover of mine and its pretty complicated - LPG ECU, evaporator, water hoses to rad, gas hoses to two banks of injection manifolds and 8 injectors etc etc etc.

No to be honest I would rather not have black, but I want a light interior ( I don't like the dark leather). Will keep browsing and see what I can find. Quite like that green one.

The midnight blue version is stunning, and often comes with the light interior.

The golden rules that Matt has on his site are the main things to check, and you want 2 keys and full service history.

Also that recall for the diff is important, so check thats been done too.

I had my conversion done about 5months ago and got a few prices from different people. Best price i got was £1800 for cash with a full tank of gas. The systems are complicated but Andy who fitted my system is brilliant. if you looked under the bonnet you cant tell its been done, its that tidy. As for the light interiour i would have a think about that one. The leather is quality but its so light it picks up and shows dirt very easy. I spent a couple of weekends cleaning mine once i got it home and was amazed how dirty the leather was. Now after 5months i can already see how much dirt its picked up. The green and gold colors tend to go for less as they arent as desiarable. the green one posted up earlyer has been for sale for quite a while. A local garage had a green one for sale for a good 8months so keep your eye out as, it may help you to drive a bargain.

One more quick question (probably a stupid one) Will mechanics be reluctant to work on a car with LPG conversions (such as AA, local independents etc) and will that mean it always has to go to a garage specialising in LPG?

Like I say, probably a dumb question, but until yesterday I was buying a straightforward Diesel, and you have all convinced me to get a monster of a petrol engine with LPG.

From what I've heard from other people on here I think it will need servicing seperately or by a garage which can do both, but its unlikely that most grease monkeys are going to be trained to service LPG systems.
