Updated Fuel Mpg Td5 Auto With Egr Blank And Hiclones

482 miles covered before putting fuel in ( still had loads )

Equals 36.72 mpg, 13.48p per mile

The Hiclones have helped I think, since fitting my AUTO TD5 goes into final drive at approx 45mph, and not the usual 55mph, giving me more ooomph uphills without kickdown


Me happy, as it was only A roads, not motorway

grab a screwdriver, whip out the hiclones then see what you think??

it's the only way to tell whether its the egr or the hiclone giving you the edge, you can always put it back and give us a report?

hi i have fitted a egr plate,and after reading can you please explaine what an hiclone is! and were it is and what it does ???????????I have a td5 man ,with egr fitted and get 25mpg and i dont hammer it!!!!!! is this the norm .

tis a round thingy with vanes init like a fan.....goes in yer air supply pipe to the inlet manifold...sposed ta swirl the air around and give the air/fuel mix a good swirling to stir it up a bit 4 a better burn....cant see it working in a TD5 tho cos its direct injection. to me its like fitting a big air restrictor in yer manifold. dunno bout the mpg....work in l/km here

Int that a bit of an oxymoron???

Oxywhat... I just fitted one of these fuel savers and now my tdi runs 400hp on the dyno and does 60mpg... best £10 ever spent
