Hi, I have an 07 Freelander for some strange reason all of a sudden when I unlock him the tailgate opens, I have also noticed that his interior lights are staying on unless I actually lock the doors.
Any ideas please, could it be the fob?
 
Most likely to be tailgate switch full of water

And interior lights stay on for a period of time (can’t remember how long) after opening and closing door and not locking
