Unknown Defender part

Hi there,

I found a metal component in the battery compartment under the passenger seat (see attached image). I was wondering if anyone knows what it is. Thank you.

This is for a 2010 Land Rover Defender 90 Pickup.

It's a wheel chock for when you jack it up.

Identical to mine, which is nearly 18yrs old. Yours is a little more shiny

I wonder how long that design of wheel chock was provided in the battery box? How old is yours? (I don't mean the OP)

Glad you asked this, I've had the same items wrapped in a cloth in my battery compartment since I bought the vehicle and often wondered what they were!

Mines holding my battery in place, bits of metal that held it in place rusted away to nothing lol
