Unintended shortening of shock spring

Had some odd noises today resulting in a pinging of something bouncing off the underside and when I recovered it from the road it turns out to be part of the spring from the front nearside shock. It is almost a complete loop and the big question is how unsafe it is to drive now.

Plan to get it replaced as soon as possible but got some appointments over the next few days where I kind of need to use it to get to them.

When you order the new, get a pair, in case that other side is 'softer' ...
