Hi All,

Currently having TD4 issue......nothing new there then!! Its a 2001 with the auto transmission.

OK, so driving seems ok but the gear change feels a bit rough like there not enough power after the change or the engine revs are not quite high enough.

Driving on the motorway at about 60, if i try to accelerate, it kicks down a gear, as if theres not enough power to accelerate. Then it take ages to change back up again.

Sometime on steep-ish hills, it the engine labours and judders. usuall resolvled by pressing foot to floor to force a kickdonw, or slipping it into sports mode.

Lastest one, was stuck in traffic on the motorwayfor about 45 minutes, when i tryed to accelate away once the way ahead was clear, engine you not go about 2500 rpm. After driving for about 30 mins more, is happily accelerate away again.

Please could anyone suggest where to start looking for issue, I'm reading that MAP/booster sensor and boost solenoid are the most likey culprets!

Cheers

Dave

check yer three inlet turbo rubbers first. . . .but it sound very much like a simular thread on here a weak fuel pmp. . . . .check out TD4 SLUGGISH IN WET JUST BELOW YOU AT THIS TIME

I'm hopeing not as both the fuel pumps were changed by Sturgess in Leicester not 2 years ago, in exchange for the GPD of a small country!!

Also change crankcase breather filter/valve assy if it hasn't been done. Try changing the fuel filter & using Millers Powersport 4 diesel additive at double the stated dose.
Boost solenoid & intercooler hoses as previous guys have mentioned are most likely.

thanks chomiumum.

2 of the intercooler hoses have been changed already. will check/change the crank case filter and have the fuel pumps checked out.

OK folks......benn to the stealers this morning and had diagnostic done.

Fuel pumps seem ok.

One ECU code - Intermmitent MAF fault. They disconected the MAF for me.

Air filter was proper scanky..like it not been changed in 5 years....replaced with a new one. (aNd will going somewhere else for the service next time around!)

There is a light inprovement without the MAF howver the same symptons persist.

Any over idea?

Still need to check/change the crank case filter! Where does it live?
