[ parked the old girl in the garage the other day and after an hour went in and was surprised to feel how much heat was still coming from under the bonnet. When I bought her there was no under bonnet felt to protect the paint from excessive heat and was just wandering if in fact the P38 was actually given any by the factory and mine has come off and never replaced ?

Cheers TomCat, its just I was interested to know if it was ever fitted with it or not. Spent an hour the other day polishing the engine side of the bonnet, Christ I must stop looking at things which are dirty and no one else will see, on the plus side Mr RAC wont need his blue surgical gloves next time he's needed !!

Just had a look, the diesel has sound proofing and the petrol doesn't.??? And I have a smell of diesel so leak off pipes need doing AGAIN !!!! And you can call me Alan.;):D:D

If you go to buy spill pipe check the braiding. If it is loosely braided and can be easily rubbed off the end of the pipe with a finger it is no good. Get the tight braided stuff only.

sorry, I got mine off Dopey's polish mate near Heathrow. He gets reels of it when he goes home because he says it is so hard to find decent stuff over here at a decent price.

might be a case of checking the BMW prices as well?
Will he post it? I've tried all sort's of motor factors , some last 5 minutes and others a few months, it's doing my head in. You could have dropped some off to me when you travelled from Anglesey to The Lakes Grrrrrr.;):)

He doesn't have a tourist visa for Wirral he is only allowed to drive up and down the M6 to and from the Lake district, the tight buggers up there will take anybodies money. :D:D

Don't know. I've none left.

I banged past the Wirral with the windows up and the locks down. :)

My 4.6 HSE has thick matting under the bonnect to keep the heat and noise in. It's been there from new.

Yes but I need wheels to complete my journey!

Got to get back south today. That M6 is a bl**dy nightmare past Cannock. Considering the A34 or even going via Leeds and the M1.
Trouble is, the m60 and 62 are just as bad so going via Leeds will be a nightmare if you're coming down the western side of the country. If you're northeast side then you'll hit problems around Scotch corner. Bleedin nightmare in UK at the moment!

Yeah. Went down the M6 in the end. First time in ages I've not had to queue most of it. Loads of guerrilla roadworks though with 50 mph limits. More movement in a morgue than on the motorway and still restricted to 50 mph with bl**dy average speed cameras to rub it in.

Bugger I've been sussed.;):D:D

I was going to call in on Wammers today. Rumour has it he has the illicit gains from a raid on one of Mozz's satellite cake warehouses. A team of cake commandos allegedly tabbed over Winter Hill, disguised themselves as Environmental Health inspectors to gain access and after stuffing their bergans escaped to the protection of the Ribble Valley. I figured with a slab or two of Kendal Mint cake we had the beginnings of a decent tea. Unfortunately I hit a bank of cloud around Lancaster and saw pretty much f*ck all until I popped out at Stoke. I think at one stage I might have been diverted through the Irish Sea. I certainly didn't see Manchester which arguably was a positive note for the weather. Stair-rods the whole bl**dy way back!
