Ok is it possible to remove the whole of the hub and swivel ball together? it looks like they are bolted to the axle either side of the diff, is it possible, more to the point, should it be done? I have no garage or drive so i dont want to lose the millions of bits on the road, rather get it indoors to sort seals!

prob a stupid question but if you dont ask....!

cheers. T:D

you can pull the whole lot orf, including half shaft by undoing the ring of bolts at the axle. don't ferget yer steering and brakes aswell

If there the same as the later 90 wich I spose they are, then yes it's definitely do able the half shaft will come out with it.

It's the putting back together I'm not sure about you'll have to be careful you don't damage the halfshaft seal.

It's not that difficult to do it on the vehicle and there aren't that many bits to loose.

cheers for that, just worried bout annoyin neighbours with me tattin abouut by their nice shiny cars! plus i got wet enough this week! all i nedd now is to waterproof the electrics and sort a decent air intake and the leaking gearbox and the rear springs and the propshaft and the radio and the door and... good job mrs is away this week. No naggin bout the bits of bike and car all over the kitchen!
