Hi all,
Not a question about expeditions in the normal sense of the word, since I'm asking about UK based trips but still;

I've got some time off work ahead, and thinking about a trip to do some walking/ camping/ maybe greenlaning to either Snowdonia, Peak D, or Lake D.

I live quite close the Brecon Beacons so spend alot of time there, and I'm not unfamiliar with Snowdonia, getting up there with mates, or my other half several times a year.

Unfortunately mates and mrs all have to work, and I don't want to waste my chance to get out and have some fun in the hills while I have it. The thing is, I'm not sure whether a 3 or 4 day trip exploring a national park would be as enjoyable without their company, so just wondering what the experiences of doing this kind of thing by yourself are? (I do have an 11 month old yellow lab for company though!)

Hi ReadySalted,
I'm just south of the Brecon Beacons myself and walk there many times. As for company you have the best company anyone could want in the Yellow Lab, I have 3 Black and 1 Yellow labs and take them everywhere with me, over to Europe as well. The coastal path in Pembrokeshire is a fantastic walk and it has buses that run all day and pick up and drop off anywhere along the path so you can walk out but not have to walk back and you could catch a bus the following morning back to where you finished the day before, just check it's not seasonal!
Lyn.
