Hi

Ordered some new UJ's for the propshaft on my 1985 110 2 1/4 petrol, took the old ones out and the new ones are too fooking small  checked references and I have been sent ones for a early series 3 :(

Thought I was in luck as I had some for a Disco kicking around but they are slightly too small too (on lengh between the circlips, about 2mm)

Now wondering whether it's original prop as it's not the same as a 110 200tdi either......Help!!!!!!!!

measure the width across the outside of your propshaft yokes.
If it's about 93mm, you have the earlier type and need UJ part number RTC3346.
If it's about 87mm, you have the later type and need UJ part number RTC3291.

Anyone reconise this as a early 110 prop shaft, it has a screw collar where the slidy bit is!

That looks zackly like my early 90 one - cept it's longer.
Mine uses RTC3346.
It's 93mm across the outside of the yoke, in the centre of the UJ hole - if you get what I mean.

89mm across the flat machined bit's on yokes !

Ordered for a 1985 110 and got RTC3291:mad:

Got a prop shaft for a Disco but that's too short, not that it solves the problem but would a 110 tdi prop fit?

My UJ's are 76.5mm wide with out the cups!

My Discovery 1 UJ's are 70mm wide with out the cups!

The RTC 3291 UJ's that I was sent are 66mm wide with out the cups!

All three have the same cup dia of 27mm.

Will do that Trew cos it's doing "me head in", I will get some RTC 3346's ordered and if there not reight can give em to the wife for Crimble and make a **** (sorry ment to say twerp) of myself in 2 wheel drive at weekend after next's off road event:D

Thanks for all your help;)

Hi Just as an aside and not recomended. A couple of years ago I had to fit (in the middle of nowhere in Africa) a severley undersised set of UJs that had a lateral movement of at least 5mm, and 3000km later (on and off bush roads) they were still fine with no measurable wear. However I did have a new yolk fitted. cheers ADHA
