the dish of the rim. the rim will be welded to the wheel hub bit at a certain point. deep offset is for bigger tires. the disco rims have a fairly shallow offset which would put your tyres slightly outside of your wheel arches on a standard defender. You will get a better turning circle though!

my mate just fitted a set of 265/75 AT's on disco rims to his 110. works fine.
