Happy new year All,

Quick question,

I am needing to replace the tyres on my 06 TD4 Sport, but I am struggling to find reasonable prices for the 235-50/18 required, with quotes ranging from £129 to £190 per tyre depending on Brand !!

Can I alter the tyre size, but keep the original 18 alloys.

Would a tyre change also help with the fact the ride is a "little" firm due to the Sport set-up,

Cant bear to part with between £600 and £900 for tyres by the time you add on VAT.

buy yerself a set of 16" wheels off flea-bay. yer kin get loads of cheep tyres then and you'll have a much nicer ride.
then yer kin sell yer 18"ers and end up even money - i know cos i done it with me V6 heep er **** about 4 years ago.

16's will give you a more comfortable ride and quieter, they will not damage so easily if you kerb them and are much cheaper and easily available BUT you will then not have a TD4 Sport. I assume you bought it because you wanted a Sport. Don't forget to advise your insurer, they love get outs.
