I appologise if this topic has been discussed to death, but my 2006 defenders tyres are approaching retirement. They are the standard 235/85R16 General Grabbers. My dilema is what to replace them with. The vehicle is used mainly onroad with the occasion offroad jaunt. The BFG A/T seem a good compromise, but what is the best size? Older defenders, such as the 50th special use 265/75R16, which asthetically suit the vehicle better. What are the pros/cons of this size over the 235's?

i put 235 on my defender 110 because they where alot cheaper (than 265) thats was my reason (rarely go off road) still goes off road fine when i go. and a put kingpin retreads a very close tread pattern to bfg A/T.
hope this helps.

Iv got an 05 90 with general grabbers on and iv done 37K on them can i ask what milage you have done on yours so i can get a rough idea on when i will need to change mine.

Iv noticed the fronts are much more worn than the rear though.
