Tyre sizes (again)

Having read the various previous threads on tyres, I can't find any answers to my question -

What size should I fit to standard 300Tdi alloys, taking into consideration -

Road noise
Grip (road use only)
Longevity

I have a set of modulars with Insa Turbo Saharas which I plan to use in the Winter months as I ain't gonna be snowed out/in again

I have read a heap of different tyre sizes and reckon 235/70/16 should be OK and can get a set for £210 fitted all in but I'd be grateful for any input from the wiser out there.

Standard sizes for a Disco are 205/80/16 and 235/70/16, the 205's would place less stress on your steering component's. As for road noise grip etc. that changes from tyre to tyre.

Personally I'm using General Grabber AT2's, as they've got great road manners/grip and don't get stuck off tarmac unless it's really muddy.
