I have a TD4 ESX which is fitted with 17" alloys tyre size 225/55 17. Have run on Pirrelli Scorpions since I bought it smooth as silk but recently have had to fit 2 new tyres went for KUMHO KH 11 put them on the front and immediately noticed tyre vibration, had the balancing checked bang on, no wobble through the steering wheel just felt like a poorly bearing. Swapped them onto the back withe the rear pirrellis onto the front vibration reduced but obviously rumble transferred to the rear. Suppose it's just coz the KH 11 are a harder compound as theres not much difference in the tread pattern. Spoke to my independant he says the old girl coz she's fitted with 17" wheels only likes pirrelli and I would get similar growl with goodyear or bridgestone !.
Anyone else encountered similar with the Kumho tyres ? if not may ask tyre shop to check to see if one or both are out of shape

got those tyres on front of mine(same size) and pirrellis on the back had no probs at all:confused:

My wifes TD4 has a pair of Kuhmo's fitted to the front and the tyre noise over 60 is awfull, she has Goodyear on the rear and to prove the problem i swapped them over and no more noise.

Its down to the tread pattern and the fact Kuhmo are a budget tyre.

Cheap isnt always best where tyres are concerned.
