****ty cheap bad fitting nasty :-(

I've just spent a fair bit of time putting a new rear crossmember with extensions on me 110. What a load of ****e. Apart from being tinny and cheap with crap welds the bastard thing didn't fit! The floor supports were about 3/4" too high so had to cut them off before I could even get it close. Then after much swearing I measured the thing only to find the sections were too close together by about 3/8" where it joins the original chassis rails, and both slightly skewed to one side.
Anybody else had similar from paddocks?

No makers labels on it but coming from paddocks it's likely to be britpart I spose. I don't need another one at the mo but where do decent quality chassis parts come from?

i got a 90 rear xmember off paddocks last year and it fitted fine..mayb u were just unlucky.

I just welded the new rear crossmember (without extensions) and it fitted absolutely fine. and it was a paddocks one. I dint buy it though. It came with the landy when I bought that.

Nah, ah jest guess.

i ordered a whole pile of parts for my NA diesel from paddocks, spoke to several different people and made several orders in the space of 2 days, and they sent me bloody petrol parts for all of them. Got me money back though. Does anyone need most of a head gaskert set for a 2.5 petrol?

Bit of an update..............
Had enough yesterday trying to make the thing fit, just couldn't get it close enough to where it should be so took it off again, measured exactly where it was wrong, and e-mailed paddocks telling them the problem and asking if they would like to sort it out. Within about an hour I had a phone call from a nice young lady at paddocks. Couldn't apologise enough, said all crossmembers should be checked before despatch but this one must have slipped through, getting me another one from a different supplier and will thoroughly check it before sending it out. Probably won't want the other one back but will let me know.
I'll let you all know what happens.......
