Hi guys,

So I’m an occasional lurker. I drive a big old bus- a 110 with a unique pick up body. I’m always around Barnes, sw london and I honk and wave at all defenderamas whenever I see you!

I’m starting to get ratty about the ULEZ extension that crook khan is bringing in.... anybody worked out a cheat for that yet? I’m 1989 v8-so a long way to go until mot/tax free that would allow free passage.....

Also my old arms are getting tired of a lack of power steering. Anybody in as london/Surrey that can be recommended to do it without silly money prices?

Cheers

Short of putting on false number plates (do not do this) there are no cheats. From October 21 if you drive/ride inside the north or south circulars you will be charged the daily ULEZ rate unless you have a a vehicle with very low emissions or which is exempt - such as pre-1981 (2021 - 40 years), agricultural, military or a mobile crane.
I think we will be seeing a lot of this in major cities.

I know- any shrewd folk will be jumping on the old series 3/early 110s ....prices WILL go up.... esoecially those with 200tdis and power steering fitted

No cheat available as yet but I suppose you could pop some fake plates on lol

As for the PAS, you could easily use an original 110 system, the 4 bolt boxes are readily available S/H and brand new still and the pump would be easily sourced off an old Range Rover S/H, would only need pipes made up and they could even be brought brand new as an off the shelf item.

Is your vehicle LPG converted? I ask as I recall an exemption for some LPG converted vehicles.

I believe that exemption has been revoked.

Most likely, I know that there is a war on cars in the capital and that it has become a business hating place and now a resident hating place unless you are a public transport user, but lets face it, hardly inspiring is it with the knife crime and moped gangs to be standing at a bus stop waiting for a bus in the evening or even early morning!

One of the many reasons I don't go to London, or the south east in fact.

I won't go there, no point, I don't like what it has become and the way in which it seems to be heading is rather rubbish also.

The South coast isn't so bad, but it's getting rather bunged up with congestion and problematic with rising crime rates here too.

Never mind, I'll be dead soon enough then someone else can worry about it.

I thought the ULEZ was applicable to diesels only? and not petrol powered cars. Long time since driving into Lunnen was my daily jog and I know things have / are changing - so what is it - diesels AND petrols?

Diesels are free if they are euro 6 and above,.

Petrols are euro 4 and above.

My mates 1999 530i is exempt so eh!
