I mainly use my Defender to tow my caravan. When out and about on sites and surrounding countryside I see loads of Defenders parked up, but I have never yet seen one with any visible form of mechanical security fitted.

Few seem to have visible security. I've been telling owners when l see them, many are unaware of the high theft risk "l use the steering lock and alarm"
I have been putting them right.

My Landrover TD5 90 County Hard Top was stolen from Pooley Bridge on Thursday night last week. Epsom Green Reg PN03 EOC.
Had it from new and my son used it as his wedding car 2 years ago. All very sad.
At the scene of the theft was a bag that had been left with 'LAZER' written on it. Any ideas??

Hi - sorry to hear about the theft. I suggest starting a new thread on here with the details and photos. Have you also put it on Landywatch and Facebook?
Hope you get it back.
Lazer make cycling helmets I believe.

And motorbike lids as well, I've got one.

Really sorry to hear about this Cd Betts, unfortunately thefts are massive and you can never have too much security on a Defender. I hope you get it back, not at least for the sentimental value being owned from new.

Thanks for your interest.
Actually the bag that was left by the thieves is LAZER LAMPS - I think they make high powered lamps for off road and commercial vehicles. The nearest outlet I can see is in the North East.
Makes one think that the thieves are actually into 4x4s!
