Not a fault so much as a puzzle. My TD4 warms up to about 35% on the gauge and then sits there..until it climbs to 50% and sits there!!.

Never sits anywhere else!

I assume the two points are thermostat opening and some electric fan cutting in, respectively.

Just wanting people to say what their's does...

I'm not sure why it would hold at 35%, but I believe the ECU calibrates the middle to be an 'acceptable range' rather than 'spot on' - so anywhere between (say) 80c and 100c would show as the middle. So when its a tad under its (say) 79c and when its a tad over its (say) 101c.

mines a td4 and slowly goes up and sits at the middle point , doesn't stop around a quarter level to be honest

think ur right that it could just be where the thermostat opens

could the thermostat be sticking or slow to open maybe

is ur antifreeze ratio etc ok

just a thought

I run my TD4 for 10 miles each morning to work and the needle never gets up to more than half way to the middle. Coming home 8 hours later, it sits in the middle after 4-5 miles:confused:

I am guessing either the thermostat is sticking overnight, or like me it just doesn't like getting up in the mornings!

Our L Series is down a bit on power on cold mornings - but not to bad. My old 300TDI was terrible! Walking speed to the end of our road, then it would begin to warm up and get some life in it.

Mine does the same. Assumed it was something to do with FBH possibly.
