Hello,
I've just bought a extra tank for my td5 90 on ebay, wasn't exactly what I was expecting haha, but looks ok but not sure what would be the best way of fitting it would be.

I thought it was a tank that fitted into the rear wing. But it actually fits behind the sill. Anyone have any advice on how to fit this? Can I link it into the original filler??

Cheers

You can, yeah. I got one of my friends to fabricate a split filler thing. Apparently it was very difficult to weld!

I think the simplest approach would be to keep the standard fuel system intact, so the engine can only run from the main tank. Have an electric fuel pump to draw fuel from the secondary tank and discharge it into the filler neck of the main tank. That way, when the low fuel light comes on, you'd just switch on the pump and refill the main tank from the secondary one.

I used a Pollak switch over valve and a switch to choose which tank the gauge reports on. To be honest it works flawlessly although the pipework is a little hard to follow!

The main problem I am getting is filling the rear tank, it just won't take more than 1/4 of a tank full at a time.

I have three tanks on my 110. One under the seat that pumps into the main tank filler neck, and then an extra tank that acts as a header tank for the main.

When filling up the main and extra header tank, I need to rock the car to get the air lock out and can normally get another 10-20 litres of fuel in.

Give it a rock and see if the fuel bubbles down.

I was planning on making a y filler. Then a pump that'll fed the main tank. I did see a photo of one. I'll see if I can find it and post it in here
