Planning a russian siberian trip, and it's going to be rough going. With a fully loaded 110 I'm not looking forward to all the shocks that could fail.

Whats people's advice?

I want to keep things standard, i.e. standard shocks, no lift. so replacement parts is a bit easier in emergency. Was thinking of double shocks front / rear, but don't have any experience. Would prefer not to have to drill / weld anything on, only bolt

Terrafirma do a double shock setup that bolts, but they say the rear ones might require spacers on the wheels - something I don't want to do so avoid extra wheel bearing load, anyone know for sure?

Would it be better to take spares and just drive slow and suck it up if I have to change some on the road, or fit some double shocks that are proven and carry the spares 'fitted' so to speak.

cheers.

Hi mate. Recognise that Landy it's a retro fit 300tdi right? I've been through all the above. Agree with keeping your suspension standard height etc. Run some good quality heavy duty standard height springs, like bearmach or what I'm running which are flat dogs. Fit the best shocks you can and carry 1 spare front and one spare back. I'm running Koni heavy track raids in the Middle East and you'd be hard pushed to break em.

Yeah it's a 300tdi from dubai - having trouble finding the colour match to be honest. Not quiet G4 orange, but close.

Thanks for the advice.

I'll look to replace the rear with Koni (if I can afford it!!) and see how it goes, that should means I have a few spares for the back, and then buy some STD spares for the front.

One question, did you buy the Koni in the UAE? if yes, where?
