Ok, so here's a thing. About 18 months ago I replaced my Td4's intercooler for a large one from Allisport. At the same time I replaced the intercooler hoses with silicone ones. I noticed immediately that I could hear the turbo spooling up. But this noise faded over time and was less noticeable. I've recently changed my MAF sensor with a brand new Bosch one due to slight loss of power and black smoke. The smoke has now cleared and power has been restored.
However, I've just changed my turbo hose for silicone and straight away I can hear the turbo .It's really loud even with the window closed. If I take my foot sharply off the gas when changing gear it sounds like I have a dump valve fitted. All fittings are tight with no leaks.
Just worried turbo may be on it's way out,or could it just be a combination of new MAF and silicone hose ?

I would say its just turbo being able to push more air through due to less restrictive silicone hose, my old golf TDI which produced a lot of boost sounded exactly like that. Just my opinion though.

Thanks for the input.Basically I was thinking the same, but it is so loud as to be a little unsettling. I must say , it doesn't half shift now too. I also have a Synergy 2 fitted. Before I changed the MAF sensor, with the Synergy turned off I couldn't accelerate at all.I'm pulling aggressive MT tyres at 205/80/16 which didn't help. But now it drives great. I'm going to revert back to smaller road tyres - then I expect to see a real difference.
