Turbo Trouble?

hi, weve just bought a turbo dial gauge for our defender which has a 200 Tdi discovery engine fitted and the turbo seems not to come in untill its revving quite high, slightly higher than you would usually drive it at is this normal? Does anyone else have a gauge fitted? and to get the maximum 1 bar you have to open it to full throttle for a short time!!

so what revs does it come in?? and obviously the full boost isn't gonna come in till yer revving it hard. Or you could just have a crap guage.

havent got a rev counter so im not sure but it seems to be revved a bit harder than you would to pull of quickly?? i no thats not much of an anwser!

Oh and by the way its a brand new turbo!!!
