Turbo Hippo: Torque considerations

Yeh that's correct, what do the portents speak of?

in essence .. there be a an influence that started around mid 2011 ..
that roughly ends feb 2013 .. that's got to do with ..
'dreams and visions' and ' switched on ( like a lightbulb ) new ideas .. inovations' .. ..
trouble is .. the 'new ideas' part also carry's a disruptive influence ..
whereas nothing is likely to go smoothly .. but you learn a lot as a result ..

and given there's part of you that's adventurous and willing to try new ideas ..
a setback to your plans, projects, ideas can leave you feeling low ..
and 'what's the point ' ..

there's also another stick-in-the-mud .. depression prone influence going on ..
( almost like a fear of loosing everything ) for folks born in 1986 ..
the reality is that's its just one of those 'growing up by learning hard life lessons' phases
be just that it can 'feel' quite daunting ..
( an influence that's aprox dec 2012 thru to october 2013 )

if you pm me your birth date i can give you a better idea of the over all picture

( more like an emotional weather forcast .. Not 'fortune telling' by any means whatsoever )

actually .. for yourself .. you'll probably 'feel' like faith and optimism in going 'forward' ..
will start to return to you by early febuary this year ( 2013 ) ..

btw: i Only started looking at it ..
'cause after putting all that dosh and work into the EWP system with an aim to improving the 1.8
you hit a snag .. and seemed fairly down and disheartened as result ( understandable )
sort of a shame the inventive idea didn't work out as you hoped ..
so .. given you mentioned a birthday in one prev thread .. figured i may as well take a look ..
out of curiosity .. didn't really want to mention the subject on LZ pages ..
( but i did 'n that's that )
anyhow .. if from my prev. experience .. i could say .. 'keep at it' it's only a temporary setback yer feeling/experiencing .. then all the better ..
the work with the EWP system is 'knowledge gained' that still can be put to use .. 'nowt wrong with that'

so yer hippo be off the road for a bit .. it's only temporary ..
imagine the satisfaction you will gain when it's back on the road .. and in better shape ..
and you've done the work yourself .. ( and with the help of friends )

~~~~~~~~
no reason .. if you have the means .. why you couldn't get what you want ..
'power and reliability' by going down the '220t' route .. .. ( mpg aside :)
nice to have the power when you need it .. but imho ..
the hippo just aint built to be a zippy road 'sports car' .. rolls in corners and is relatively weighty
take away the pliable suspension .. and you take away its 'ride-comfort' factor ..
( and at a guess .. not to mention potential off-road virtues ) ..
there's a price to be paid driving any vehicle in 'fast sports mode'
be called 'wear and tear' .. even if it's built specificaly for it .. like a porche or whatever
it will wear down tyres if nothing else .. good tyres cost £££ .. ce la vie :))
but then again .. smiling-while-you-drive is worth it as well ..
although .. the costly word 'insurance' comes to mind as well ..
~~~~~~~~

just been looking thru websites relating to the '220t' ..
loads of build options .. including uprated bits for the gearbox ..
you could end up spending money equivalent to replacing your 1.8 version with a late model hippo1 td4 ..
but on the other hand .. there would be a special satisfaction and uniqueness to building a hippo '220t' :)

( er .. not to mention loads of LZ readers waiting to read the 'how i did it ' running 'build' commentary
( and curious to read how it 'drives' when finished :))

Interesting HD3, very interesting. I'd agree with pretty much everything you said - and it ain't just "this month Saggitarians will worry about money" - bitch, everyone worries about money all the time. So kudos mate you clearly know a thing or two :).

I've orderd all the parts I need to put it back but I'm going to hold onto the EWP and ancilliaries and if I get another HGF it'll go back on. It's the only reasonably test I can think of. But after this all the Hippo needs is a recon VCU (my old one is a bit stiff but not dead yet) and a new rear window (snagged the element contacts on wires and snapped 'em clean orf...)

Will PM you my Bday and sich :).
