Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has tried to increase the turbo boost pressure slightly ? I'm not talking about a radical increase, just a bit. Anything would help to increase the power slightly. I know its often best not to fiddle with these things, but the vehicle is solidly engineered and probably can tolerate a slight increase I am surmising.
Where would I start?

I also imagine that the turbo would run slightly faster with less exhaust backpressure if I replaced the muffler with a better flowing product?

A straight through exhaust would help. To fiddle with the turbo you need to shorten the actuator arm. But to get it short enough for it to do anything you'll need to cut a bit of the tread off. I personally wouldn't bother.

If you want more poke;

No need to up the boost, first fit a boost guage at the inlet end and make sure you are actually getting all the boost you should have.

There is no point tuning anything until you have done this.

Then, exhaust is a good start alongside tuning the fuel pump.

But seriously, make sure you've not got any boost leaks anywhere before deciding if it needs turning up.

guys, this has been covered about a million trillion times... use a search and you will find all you require.
