I've never heard of anyone on here using that particular module, for TD4s most seem to favour the Synergy 2 which does give a worthwhile increase in performance and throttle response.

Hi
I can now recommend the Synergy 2 tuning module. I have had one since last Friday and all I can say I it has made a huge difference to the car. I took the advice from the kind people on here and got some Millers Power Sport 4 which again has made it even better. Got the pierburg MAF, Air filter and dash switch along with it and it is a lot better running now. Setting 10 is like lightning compared with normal. Currently going through all 10 settings to decide which I prefer.
Have a look here.

I knew that my MAF was a dud and wanted more power so decided to go for Synergy 2. I don’t know how much the other one is but I bet this is cheaper and delivers more.

Yes the HP for a standard Freelander TD4 is 112hp.
The Synergy box gives it up to 144hp according to Roverrons web site.
Millers Power Sport 4 gives it up to another 17.5% extra apparently and also just a point to note is that the claim is that the EGR bypass gives it up to 10hp.

If you look at this then potentially 180hp if you add it all up.

Sorry Billy
A bit optimistic I know but it all does add benefits. I would say it beats 150hp anyway.
I should have added that this is the Claims that they all make.
There is a debate whether or not Bypass does actually work, I would just be happy with all the crap not being pumped from the exhaust into the manifold which when cleaned out does make an improvement.

Thanks for that lads have sent for one of those pro- bitz ones so will post on the site to let you know if it any good . Crafty

Hope it didn't cost any more than £160 or you've been done as you can get a basic Synergy box without MAF compensator for that. Synergy 2 with the built in MAF compensator is about £200 inc. postage & your pro-bitz definitely won't have that.

the pro-bitz one costs £115 so not to bad. hoping to get it this week and fit it. will let you know how i get on with it, it was recomended by someone i met.

Just had a look at their website which was sketchy, but their ebay page was better. Gives a little less power than the Roverron Synergy but the guys got good feedback which is vital with these units. Sounds like it'll be a good budget alternative & we'll be interested to hear how you get on. I took months of humming & hawing because a few of the cheaper units (£75-£100) sold on ebay had blown up peoples ECUs when you read the feedback. This put me off for a long time but everyone on here recommended Roverron including Car Mechanics magazine & his website was professional & informative. I've never regretted it.

fitted the pro bitz module on thursday this week. felt a difference to my freelander straight away seemed to be running smoother. big test this weekend was when me and my mate went to oxford fishing for the weekend fully loaded up with all the gear for a weekend carp fishing and a top box on for all our rods. wanted to see if it made a difference to the fuel consuption and what it ran like on the motorway was not disapointed doing 70 mph i got 39mpg out of it so really pleased with it

Hi I'm confused by these post do these things work and which one do you recommend?
thanks

Nothing confusing about it. Modern diesels are capable of providing so much more performance & economy than standard hence the aftermarket explosion in digital tuning boxes. I recommend Roverrons Synergy Box - link below. Also well worth reading for the servicing/fault finding info.
