TTI 550 help!

Hi all. Just fitted a PSM 1 mount for me Landy. Got one rig check off a bloke on 19 but am unable to change channels. It just double beeps at me. Anybody any pointers? There is nothing in the manual to help. Cheers!!

Have you got the channel lock on?
 
No mate. Lock is off. Just checked it. I'm parked between two houses at the moment maybe signal is poor or blocked?
 
No. Bought it from maplins last year. No receipt now. I'm sure it's done this before but worked again. If I could find the full manual I could see if it is a setting that could be changed.
 
Do you have it programmed to work on the UK channels?? Maybe try doing that again and see if it works any better. If you dont know how I think you have to hold the am/fm button down whilst turning on the cb then use the channel up and down buttons to select the UK freq and then hold the am/fm button for 2 seconds to select the freq.

Try it see what happens.
 
Cheers mate. It is either UK or Europe its set on. Will try that out once I've put me coat on.
 
All sorted now. I reset the cb by pressing and holding am/fm button, 9/19 button and turning it on. I then selected UK and held down AM/FM button until the beep. All working well now. Cheers Adam for your help.
 
No haven't checked the SWR. I've never done it. Just plugged it all in and fiddled until I can hear my mateys.
 
Really should get it checked mate. Only a few quid for a SWR meter or get someone to check it for you. Better than cooking your CB.
 
Would it be a good idea to run the earth to the chassis or battery or is the aluminium a good enough ground plane? I'm getting an ok signal.
