Hi all, received master earlier and been trying to fit it, but I cannot get the old one out

I can un-couple it from the clutch under the dash, I can rotate it out of the bonnet, but the connection to the coupler is not for budging. I have tried every which way I can to uncouple it but no joy......

It should be a real easy job everyone has said, no more than 30 mins, I've been at it for 3 hours :( What am I doing wrong???

Holding the outer part of the coupler, pull/prise the collar out to release the connection.

Cheers mate, will give it another go tomorrow......I know it should be easy as I've done these sort of things before, just never encountered this problem with this type of connector. I assumed it was a push and pull job, but you know I tried everything to get it to part but it wouldn't budge.

If you hear a loud scream tomorrow it'll be me, either because I still haven't managed to uncouple it or I have and the new master cylinder hasn't fixed the problem.

I assume it doesn't require any special tool to uncouple this thing? The hayni book mentions a special LR tool.
