Anyone out there know why my r380 gear box vibrates in 3rd and 4th gear?
I've been told it's the gear box rubbers as it vibrates through clutch pedal.
Any ideas anyone?

gearbox rubbers would be the cheapest thing to try but it sounds like the bearings. dos it vibrate in 5th as well?

 it does vibrate in 5th but not as bad . Also if the revs are fairly high 3000 plus the vibration is not as bad even in 3rd or 4th the vibration is also felt through the floor.

What makes you so sure it's the gearbox?

When my UJ's started to go it felt exactly as you describe.

I'd start trouble-shooting simply and check one of the tyres doesn't have a big stone in it's tread (it's happened to me) then check the UJ's, then the prop-shaft sliders, then the nuts and bolts on the drive flanges, then the drive flanges separately trying to isolate front from rear so you can get a true idea of where the vibes are coming from.

iv'e changed the front prop with a new one. And also the rear rubber cush drive on the back axle I dont think that it is stones in the tread as i have checked them , so it just maybe possible that its the rear prop but when i changed the rear rubber cush drive i didnt find hardly any play in the joints .

even tho the uj's have no play in them make sure they are free to rotate as well, if the bearings are seizing up it it dosn't help matters
