Hey all
Im looking at buying a P38 4.0 se.
All works ok except the guy says the gearbox is "not correct"
and it has been diagnosed with a broken Transmission solenoid and a £450 repair price.
Have any of you heard of this, is it a simple fix??
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

There are solenoids in the gearbox to operate the electronic shifts. Two shift solenoids a lockup solenoid and a pressure regulating solenoid. All are located on valve block.

Can anyone find a part number for the number 1 solenoid???

Ive been looking everywhere and so far nothing that relates to this problem.
I took it for a test drive and it is definately stuck in 2nd gear and wont change even if you select 1st ect. It does also go in reverse and flashes up gearbox fault when you turn off the ignition.
I have enough knowledge and skills to remove the valve block from the gear box, where are the solenoids located it there??

Thanks

Martin
