hello guys
i kinda need your opinion on a project am working on , i have a Landrover Discovery model 2000
i know the engines are basically the same with a little differences here and there , i wanna remove the engine and the most critical parts and buy a new Defender Body and chassy ,
any recommandation ?

that would cost way more than just converting it into one ,, because i wanna use the pickup chassy without roof ,, and i wanna change the transmission into manual

Just buy a beaten up defender with decent panel works axles and suspension.
Then just buy the chassis put the engine from the disco and find an r380 gearbox.

The thing you'll struggle with is the identity of the vehicle. You won't have a defender ID if you just buy the panels for a defender and put on a new chassis it won't have an ID.

You can't claim it to be a discovery as chassis length is different.

Buy a td5 defender with a blown engine. Then just swap the engine.

Or sell the disco for a defender.

swapping the Engine is a really great idea ,, but the defenders where i live are pretty expensive i will look for one tho :) thanks

any other ideas guys?

Dunno how feasible this is, but Disco is 100" chassis, so get Defender 110 pickup body panels, discard the Disco body and add the Defender panels, shortening the tub by 10" (or get a 90 and increase the tub by 10", but that's harder). I'd guess the hardest bits would be fitting the Defender panels to the bulkhead and getting it to look right, but even so it's only fabrication and brackets ... ;)

i will keep that under consideration , i will also keep you guys updated with any progress i make with it ,, i will try to upload some pictures of the Discovery i have as soon as i can :)
