wouldnt advice it,they once bought recycled cable oil as fuel for the plant at work,it caused all sorts of problems, with seals etc.may just have been a crap batch but id stay away

Mineral transformer insulating oil will combust in a diesel engine and it will burn in a oil fired heating boiler. Not tried it myself but a chap I used to work with ran his tractor on it with 50/50 mix.

Transformer oil used to be full of PCBs - nasty stuff. The substation round the corner from me has a warning sign on it saying the oil might be contaminated. You might have to be careful where it comes from.

I used to know a chap who ran an old 2a on a mix of tranny oil and diesl witha bit of parraffin thrown in - smoked like buggery
