transfer box

i just reliazed that my bad off road performance is due to the fact that i can no longer engage diff lock. i have checked the linkages they are fine but the shaft in the transfer box that engages it will not move.all the handbooks i have, tell you to have the transfer box professionaly repaired.
any helpful suggestions

Thats cos I thought "on here" was a good enuff clue as to where you might be able to find the link if you did a search. If I was to put the link to the website on this particular fred, then it would mean me doing the search and not you, an seeing as how I don't want to look at a manual at the moment, I don't see why I should waste my time doing a search for you.

Maybe I should have said. "This problem about not having a decent manual has cropped up on this forum before, if you try doing a search using the word "manual" or "defender manual" you should without too much bother find the thread with the link to the website that the aforesaid manuals may be found".

I hope this clarifies the matter.
