Thanks again Griff, I've been told it can be done in-situ but it looks like a pig of a job. I thought it was a uj gone but had the prop off and the uj's are fine then I noticed some play in the output shaft this causes vibration when you put the gas down, hence I thought it was the uj. I've always had a bit of vibration thought it wer because of the Evo lift kit so forked out for some scorpion robbing extreme props with no joy but this has steadly got worse and it can only be the output bearing which today has started to make noise like somebody is ironing a cat. This means the front of the T/F box has to come off I will let you know how it goes

How much play?

The output flange will rock about 2/3mm as it will see-sawing on the gears inside and this is normal.

Bearings may not have gone it's up and down (lateral) movement your looking for. They will rock to a certain degree 'cos the the next bearing down the shaft is a taper roller and has to have a bit of play.

I reckon they could be done without removing the box but you might have a job getting the bearings out 'cos theres nothing to get hold of, shaft up the middle housing round the outside!

This seems to be catching there's two people in the Disco bit having trouble with theres!!!

Well I've got a spare T box I'm sticking on tomorrow, and hopefully It can be salvaged I was planning on sending it to ashcrofts and having the Q spec disco ratio shoved in there
