Transfer box oil fill up

Hi all,

I've checked the oil level in the main gearbox and all is well. Thought I'd do the transfer box oil level check also today and ran into a problem.

I realise the filler plug is partially obscured by the handbrake drum, but when I finally undid the knut on the filler plug I saw this:



Here's a close up of the actuall bolt sticking out:



So my question is, is this normal?

I'm thinking that maybe I have to undo the other nut (above and to the right of this bolt thing sticking out) or do I just have to use pliers or something to try to free the bolt / plug?

that's not the filler - it's the square socket below in the last picture

Yes just the square ---- looks like you tryed removing the intermediate shaft from the tranny box lol :doh:

I'll do it tomorrow .... thanks
