Ok, Reverse is top left and yeah it gets hot enough to fry eggs on, so does the handbrake drum and the top cross link on the rear prop shaft - oh yeah and numb nuts, I have to deal with people like you who blow up machinery every day with your obvious fix it when its broke c**p so take your hormones elsewhere bud :D
you say the handbrake drum gets hot as well -i would check that the shoes are not binding i.e over adjusted

Possibly one of the more usefull things you've said numb nuts, cheers. Yeah I'm just a slack ass. Get over it.

Regarding the handbreak, that's backed right off so na its not that binding.

I've got a Salsbury axel on the rear, I was checking the rear propshaft to try get it off as I wondered if the expansion link had seazed, couldn't get it off as not enough room to compress the shaft, could the shaft be too long thus transfering all the forces from the rear axel into the aft bearing in the trans box causing it to get hot...?

And yesterday got a new problem, the engine started hunting and blowing fine mist out the crank case breather, looses top end power and starts spewing blueish smoke, anyone any advances on a blown head gasket?

Sorry, if yer gonna write a sarky post make sure yer right!

Your gearbox isn't a 380 as fanny-tic sez, it's a LT77. They tend to get a bit warm after a long journey. Take some eggs and bacon and make the most of it!

Welcome to the forum. Sorry can't be much help, but there are some sensible and knowledge types on here.

We all start with Landys sometime, give the guy a break; at least he's got a Landy, and not some Jap!
