trailer tent size

bought meself a M416 army trailer that i want to build into an expedition trailer, does anyone the size of the deck on top that i will need to make to carry a tent? as standard it is 1900 x 1300 i have no problem leaving the lenght as is but would like to taper the sides in, so am really asking for a minimum width.LEE

Depends on the footprint (floor area) of the tent I guess.

We have four different tents, all pretty commonly seen on sites, but they range from about 12' x 12' to 8' x 6', 8' x 5' and about 6' round .... there isn't a common size as such.

Personally I'd find a tent that suits you and what you're using it for, then look at what you need to do to the trailer to make it fit. If you sort the trailer first, you're then constrained by that size to find a tent that fits, which won't be as easy.

Tents are such a personal thing, what suits me might not suit you or someone else ... hence why there's so many!

check the yank forums, a lot of them use the same base trailer. You should be able to pick up loads of ideas off there.
