Hi, I have Just got 2001 Defender TD5, been out in it today and when indicating the trailer light flashes once with no trailer attached, Is this normal? as i have not noticed it before.

Of course. It's confirmation that this warning light will flash when your trailer electrical lead is plugged in. The same light will flash in time with the indicators on the towing vehicle when you are towing.
