v8 disco like your answer better but origonal snapped and dislocated by ball joint and lost in the snow
they said to much trouble for the price think ive got it sussed though have tracked vehicles before but never done a landrover as you know landrovers have two bars for the steering 1 in front of the axel off the steering box and 1 beheind the axel the origonals can be adjusted on either side independantly but the new ones have a left hand thread on one side and a right hand thread on the other meaning both wheels are adjusted at the same time (slacken the lock nuts spin bar one way both wheels go out spin other way both wheels go in) will set to zero toe with the rear bar and attempt to straighten steering wheel up by adjusting front bar in the same way when adjusting the front one earlier today it just misaligned the steering wheel inside did not move roadwheels at all fingers crossed will try tomorrow in daylight thanks for all repliesunlucky, did the garages give a reason why they turned you away
how does that work measurements would be exellent if posted here thanks will save a lot of messing about with sliding guageRave disc will give you the measurements, I use a sliding curtain pole to set mine , it handles better when set parallel .
set one side to zero or parrallel the new bar set the other side at the same time to zero on the gunson sliding tracking guage perfect used the front bar to set position of steering wheel spot on only took about 40 mins to do the whole job so there you gothey said to much trouble for the price think ive got it sussed though have tracked vehicles before but never done a landrover as you know landrovers have two bars for the steering 1 in front of the axel off the steering box and 1 beheind the axel the origonals can be adjusted on either side independantly but the new ones have a left hand thread on one side and a right hand thread on the other meaning both wheels are adjusted at the same time (slacken the lock nuts spin bar one way both wheels go out spin other way both wheels go in) will set to zero toe with the rear bar and attempt to straighten steering wheel up by adjusting front bar in the same way when adjusting the front one earlier today it just misaligned the steering wheel inside did not move roadwheels at all fingers crossed will try tomorrow in daylight thanks for all replies
