Good evening. I have owned my Vogue 4.6 now for one and a half years .But lv just got it on the road now for two months.l saved her from a scrap yard and l have put a small fortune into her.For over a year she started first time no matter how long l parked her.At times with a jump start and even took battery out a few times for weeks. This made me fall in love with it even more as it has had non of the common faults.
There is one issue which is spoiling my otherwise perfect relationship. The steering seems to have a mind of its own, more so over uneven roads.Really scary, tyre pressure 32 front 38 back.Drives straight doesnt pull to one side until the road gets a bit bumpy then it just pulls in any given direction.Been advised it could be tracking but l wanted to find out if it could be anything else before l get it done.

This is how l got her needed a radiator, water pump amongst other bits

Worn ball joints, worn steering joints, worn steering damper, worn radius arm bushes, maladjusted steering box. Is that enough to be going on with?

Same happened mine guys, swopped over badly worn inner shoulder aspect of tyres to 2nd hand Bridgestones, pretty awful since, tracking was checked and a proper MOT carried out since!HELP!

+1, sounds like worn knuckle joints on steering shaft (steering box to bulkhead)

The government run MOT centres over here are pretty thorough, plus the guy who did mine admitted to having a P38 plus doing all his own mechanical work so would suspect if he couldn't spot it during the test must me something more subtle or awkward to diagnose?!

Had this exact problem on my 97 P38 , totally cured by a set of Nexan Rodians ( correctly pressured ) and new front radius arm bushes now runs straight and true like new , was a nightmare before

Cheers guys took it to a mates garage he checked it over.Has a lot of play on the track rod end on the off side. Going to order one. Also will bring pressure down to 28.I will swap tryes round too and see how it goes. Will keep you posted
Cheers all:D
