I am about to swap out my chassis and bulkead for a galvanised one, in the process I will be changing a lot of things that can get done when i am at the stage of the vehicle being in bits. In short I will be spending a considerable amount of money on her. I was thinking of installing an alarm to protect my investment but I thought of a tracker system. Has anybody got any experience with these as to what is the best and what feedback if any. I just want to stop the vehicle form getting nicked after I do all this work on her?

Trackers are great, but don't ignore Disklock, Clutch Claw and immobilsier (if yours is not factory fitted) first!

Personal view is to firstly make it as hard as possible to take the Landy (bar loading it on a flat bed), before thinking about how to get him back if the worst happens

if they want it it will go what ever.

parked out of hiab reach with a good imobilser and wheel lock will do with a tracker.:)

advertise in your window its watched 24/7 and bet ya A fiver it stays.

Yeh fair point - if they want it badly enough.....

Making it hard for the b****rds so they pass by and look for easier pickings is the name of the game.

Have pondered the CCTV/signage route - must confess in two minds so would be interested in others' thoughts on the subject

(ok this works on a normal car allot better but still) mobile phone with a 10er of credit on, left turned on, plugged into power somehow (run a small cig ligher with fuse to somewhere dry and hidden) sign it upto one of those services that places the phone on a map when a certain text is sent - free ones or one off trackers needs user input on the phone to work so wouldnt work. find your landy anytime (given signal) - i think its already been mentioned on here at sometime -its quite easy to get tracker blockers, unless its a brand new merc, bm or whatever then they use a 'gyro' system or something like that and the jammers needed for them costs thousands rather then 20 notes on ebay.
