I'm about to change my Track rod ends. Last time round I fitted Paddocks ones which were about £4.19 each. They lasted about thirty thousand miles and one trip to Morocco across the Sahara.
Has anyone noticed any difference with either Delphi ones at £7.40 each or Lemforder ones at £11.40 Is there any real difference in quality?

I think thirty thousand is good going for track ends that have been in the desert dust or grimy water. Types with greaser will last longer IF you grease them.

Have a look at their webcat, from here you can get the part numbers through a vehicle search, this way you can buy through a local motor factors and not have to pay ''specialist'' prices with mental postage costs.

I hasve never had any problems using Britpart TRE's as I always request the genuine replacements ... Part Number ending in 'G'

Am I missing something , you buy genuine aND GET BRITPART?

What is going on with my caps lock today!

For example NRC6007G and RTC5870G bought from Britpart at a fraction of the LR price!

Yes but what exactly does G mean? Does it mean Britpart can sell Lemforder parts cheaper than anyone else?

I read a lot about the G meaning genuine but from what I see britpart mention nothing of it on their web site.

Of course they don't!

'G' suffix means that it's a genuine part, and I thought you'd have been around long enough to know that ;)

So I thought , why not ask them?
So I did,

Hi, I am enquiring about your land rover parts the numbers of which end in G, are these parts genuine Land Rover parts? Regards

And they said,

Dear Sir,
With reference to your recent enquiry regarding Landrover Branded parts.
Sometimes the part is prefixed with a G to indicate it is Landrover or OEM, we also use a prefix of LR. It is depending on how many alternatives of supply there are.
I hope this helps.

Many thanks

So there you go.
