Fellow Landrovians
Can someone confirm that the LH track ball joint goes on the steering drop arm and the 3 RH ones go on the track rod and drag link
Also on the steering box I can see a ball joint of some kind above the splines. Is that normal or is the box stuffed
Cheers
Paul:confused:

Having just done the rod ends on mine, as long as the overall length between the centres of the rod ends is right, i believe the linkage can go either way round, as long as the joints are the right way up.
Although i feel sure someone will put me right on this..

Cheers Steve
I think I was a little vague in my post
When you did your track rod is one a left hand thread and one a right hand thread?
I assume the drag link is two right hand thread
Cheers again
Paul:D

Thanks Nice
See what you mean as there is an adjuster tube on the track rod to set the steering. So I assume you rotate the drag link rod to adjust it or am I talking total nonsense:eek:

Just to make sure we're on the same page- the drag link connects steering box to passenger side wheel and the track rod connects the two wheels together at the back.

The track rod on your disco should be two part, the main bar with the steering damper bracket with the passenger side ball joint screwed in one end and then the 5 or so inch long adjuster which screws into the other end then the drivers side ball joint screws into that.

To adjust the drag link slacken the clamps at both ends and turn the whole bar. To adjust the tracking slacken the two clamps on the drivers side either side of the adjuster and turn the short adjuster bar not the whole track rod.

Went to me local to get a new track bar yesterday and their suppliers label it as a drag link and the drag link as a track rod, retarded!

Hi Munster
All very clear now and it all makes sense and what you say is kina what I thought.
From memory I think the short adjuster is on the passenger side on mine.I will check when I get home and confirm
Cheers
Paul:)
