Hi
Can anyone advise me on installing a toyota 2c diesel into a series 2a i have 2 of these motors and find them very feul concervitve in my izuzu 4x4 here in South Africa they are cheap and easy to fix .

have you ever done this? I bought one a year ago and all its gears are f*cking up after some research I found out that the one that I bought the landy from has changed 3 gearboxes in the matter of two years so it's definetly a flange problem..

I've no idea what the availability of Land-Rover 200Tdi engines is like in South Africa, but if you can lay your hands on one of those you should sell your Toyota engines and fit one of those because they are excellent engines and fit nicely into a series engine bay. There is no need to buy or make special engine mounts or gearbox adaptor plates and neither the bulkhead, transmission tunnel nor the chassis will need to be modified.

I'm fairly sure the 2c is quite a bit longer than the series's or the 200tdi, measure up with a tape to see if it'll fit, you could if you can get one fit a defender front panel I spose.
