I am back in the UK and want to carry on the the quest of installing a tow bar on my 90. From the previous thread I started it appears that my 1995 300 TDi has been fitted with a TD5 galvanised replacement chassis. No shock then that the Dickson Bate one I ordered for a 300 TDi didn't fit (It was a shock for me at the time because I was unaware that I had a TD5 chassis ;-(). Luckily I managed to get a refund but incurred costs of £25 for postage back. I am somewhat reluctant then to re-order unless I am pretty certain of a correct fit.
The fuel tank on my 90 is located in the conventional position of a 300TDi and not at the rear like a TD5 90. So there are no brackets where a TD5 90's tow bar brackets would fit. I don't know where a TD5 110's tank is located but it appears that the front bracket legs fit onto the tie down holes (where you would fit JATE rings - which is not the case with the 90 as the tank is in the way). Looking at the 3D drawings of the TD5 110 kit it looks as if it would fit. So what I need to know is whether the relationship between the tie down holes on the rear chassis legs of the TD5 110 are in the same dimensional relationship to the rear cross member as on the TD5 90?
