few more, still got the side steps, so that screws up the bet that they wouldn't last! even if the rubber did come off and they are a bit bent!

Did all the blue & red routes, only did 2 black routes & got stuck on 1!

not bad for stock....

Now just composing a shopping list.....:D

Hmm, Seems to be going through a mid life crisis and wanting a career change, last week he wanted to be a glamour photographer, this week he wants to be Charlie Dimmock;)

Wonder what he wants to do next week ?

"OK, now what do I do?" :)

Panic ????

At least he didn't get pulled out by a J**P !

I was told that the unwritten rule was not to get pulled out by a jeep at all costs, abandon it, set fire to it, whatever, just don't get pulled out by a J**P!

I've heard Slim makes a very convincing santa. He's always got that to fall back on heh?.

Hi, this place is literally 5 minutes from me but I have never been cos I have heard it really isnt worth the money.......... so can you tell me what you think of it and whether it is worth it?

It was my first time at tong for a pay & play, been before to other events, but regarding the pay and play.

Well organised, even though we booked late ( Friday!)
The blue routes ( easy ) were interesting enough so if you have not been off road before, you felt like you had, they also offered to take newbies round and advise them.

The red routes were really challenging, bearing in mind I was in a stock disco with mt's on, were on the limit of what could be achived, I damaged the side steps (!) but it was only a matter of time before that happened anyway. Signage was reasonable but the map was a bit vague as there was some last minute changes and it was easy to get confused as to which bit was which on the map, but that was because of the choice of routes rather than the organisation.

The black routes were extreme! I attempted 2 and only got stuck on the brow of a very steep slippy slope, but got a pull over the top. Some of the other black routes were giving the winch challenge moters a run for their money.

There was something for everyone, plenty of things to try out and push your limits, if that ws your thing.

We went down as a group of two vehicles, but ended up with 5 vehicles.

Food from the burger van is good, toilets are erm present, but thr threat of being locked in and being towed round the course tends to make you use a bush!

Part of the blue routes is the comp safari course and is quite fun at speed ( didn't say that!) the mud is sticky and the grin is infectious!!

Do it, you won't be disssapointed

I was looking at your pics and it looked pretty good but as mentioned I had been told it wasnt really worth the money. Thanks for the info though will bear it in mind next time we have a free weekend;)

Hello, I've been going to tong for years, and although it's changed slightly, it's still loads of fun. . .The routes are laid out and graded so there's stuff to cater for all types of off roaders. . Think the next day is in feb, it's well worth a visit.:D

Thanks Rich..... have only owned my 90 a few months and one of the first things I did in her was Drumclog which was a lot of fun..... and then I have done some nice greenlaning in the Dales so am looking for more places to go. Was considering langdale but its a lot of money and a long way..... can you tell me how much Tong is now? Decisions, decisions........... thanks guys

The open days at Tong are now 40 if you pre book or 50 on the day which is quite dear ( I remember when it was only 20 to get in ). Not sure about Langdale, never been, but I hear its worth a visit. .Myself and some others are planning a green lane trip in the Dales soon, Will keep you posted.:D

I'm sure the only time I had a rope on mine was when it was attatched to the front of yours and mine was doing the pulling :p
